Back to School: When “Knowing What to Do” Isn't Enough
Every August, families start with the best intentions. The backpack has a designated spot. The calendar is ready. Everyone knows what time they need to leave in the morning. Your child understands that homework comes before gaming, dirty clothes go in the hamper, and the permission slip really does need to make it from the backpack to the kitchen counter.

Building an External Brain
Your Child Doesn't Need a Better Memory. They Need an External Brain. "If I have to remind him one more time..."
It's one of the most common frustrations I hear from parents.
"My daughter forgets everything."
"He never remembers to bring home his homework."
"I've told her a hundred times."
"He loses everything."
Parents often assume these behaviors reflect laziness, carelessness, or a lack of motivation.

Why Is It So Hard for My Child to Get Started?
When most people think about ADHD, they think about behavior. They think about the child who cannot sit still. The student who forgets assignments. The teenager who procrastinates until the last minute. The child who interrupts, loses things, gets distracted, or seems unable to follow through.
